Neth FM Sambodhi Wesak Zone was announced on 16th May, 2011 at Gregory’s road with magnificent collection of Wesak Lanterns & illuminations displayed by three forces and police and were viewed by a massive crowd.  Wesak Dansala was the key feature opened on 18th May with Buddhist rituals conducted by the most venerable Buddharakkita Thero, the Chief Priest of Malwatta Chapter of the Siyam Nikaya and offered food for thousands during 18th & 19th May. Flamboyant Wesak Perehera marched on Gregory’s road on 18th May giving a spectacular view to the crowd.   Neth FM Studio was operated in the zone and the viewers were given the opportunity to express their views about this great event which was lively aired on Neth FM Radio and religious songs were played in the Wesak Zone using DJ sounds to enhance the spirit of this great religious event. ‘Iodex’ Bam sponsored great relief for the crowd during the event. Neth FM Sambodhi Wesak Zone was a joint happening with Sambodhi Viharaya and we pay our tribute to all three forces and police for their enormous contribution to make the event a memorable one and especially we are grateful to the Air Force staff for their kind and generous contribution for Dansala by preparing delicious meals. All in all it was a vibrant and splendid event which remains in the hearts of people who visited Neth FM Sambodhi Wesak Zone for 2600th Sambuddhathwa Jayanthi Anniversary.
