
Fourteen leading Chinese investors have expressed an interest to open up businesses in Sri Lanka. These investors, pursuant to an invitation extended by President Mahinda Rajapaksa during his recent tour of Beijing, visited the island a few days ago. They had a meeting with President Rajapaksa, at which they agreed to invest in Sri Lanka, said the Presidential Secretariat. These entrepreneurs will invest in a 1,000-acre tourism zone in Kalpitiya, the Meerigama Investment Zone as well as in the gem and jewelry industry.
