The Supreme Court today (Sept. 05^th) rejected a motion seeking bail for Buddhist monk Ven. Pannala Pannaloka Thera who is remanded on a charge under pollution prevention legislation.

According to NethFM News courts correspondent, a group of monks had been present at the hearing.

However, they had not risen up as is the custom when the judges enter the courtroom.

Here, Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva asked the monks to leave the courtroom and return later, but they had refused the request.
