Convener of the Inter University Students Federation Udul Premaratne, in a statement, said both the country and its people have fallen to an abyss due to actions of such politicians.

He gives an example from the field of school education, noting that both the main opposition UNP and the ruling UPFA at a provincial council have agreed to open private universities.

Mr. Premaratne ridiculed the two parties for their decision, as they have sworn allegiance to safeguard free education.
