Amendments to Registration of Persons Act

The Cabinet has approved a paper submitted by Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickremanayake for revising the Registration of Persons Act.

Cabinet spokesman Anura Priyadarshana Yapa told the media today (Sept. 04th) that the purpose of the amendment would be to provide for the introduction of a digitalized identity card.
