The National Child Protection Authority is to launch special programmes for the social mobilization of children caught up in the war.

Its chairman Jagath Wellawatte said these children would be given physiotherapy treatment, starting from the Eastern Province.

These programmes will also target children affected by the 2004 tsunami.

Mr. Wellawatte said the NCPA aims to eliminate all forms of child abuse within the coming decade.
