Police have freed a 12-year-old boy who had been maltreated by his employer.

Personnel of the National Child Protection Authority had found the teenager from a woman at Chilaw.

He had been given by his mother to work as a domestic worker.

Chairman of the Authority Jagath Wellawatte said the two women had been arrested and released on bail.
