Several people have been interrogated over the food poisoning of 253 soldiers at Hennanigala Army Camp in Dehiattakandiya, North Central Province a few days ago.

According to defence sources, the cooks as well as those who frequent the camp´s kitchen are among the questioned persons.

The man who is supplying food to the camp will also be questioned, said the sources. 

Director of the Dehiattakandiya Hospital Dr. W.H.K. Weerapana said the soldiers had cyanide in their systems.

Defence sources added that the cooked food at the camp had been laced with cyanide.
