Air Force pounded two  LTTE fighter boats that were anchored close to Alampil beach near  Nayaru Lagoon in Mullaitivu today (Sept. 03^rd).

The air strike around 10.30 am was launched using Air Force fighter jets, said the Media Centre for National Security.

Pilots have confirmed that one boat was completely destroyed while the other suffered a great degree of damage.

Meanwhile, NethFM News special correspondent Dilshan Sandakekulu Madawala reports that leaflets have been circulated in the Wanni, asking civilians to crossover to the safety of cleared areas.

Arrangements are already in place to ensure the safety and welfare of these people, he adds.
